    Map games

    Two free ways to play on the map, even before you own a plot.

    • NewPaint the map: colour 3 squares of unclaimed space every day (10 if you own a plot). Everyone sees it live, and when someone buys a plot their image covers the paint.
    • NewTreasure hunt: prizes are hidden under plots. Dig 5 times a day (10 for owners) and each dig tells you if you're hot or cold. Finders win the prize.
    • NewTreasure finds show up in the live feed.
    • ImprovedA brand-new homepage that shows what Netplots is and everything you can do.

    Inventory & profile looks

    Everything you buy now lives in your inventory, and your profile can look however you like.

    • NewInventory: buy Shop items before you even have an image, and move effects between your images whenever you like.
    • NewProfile backgrounds, including moving ones: aurora, starfield, waves, neon grid and lava lamp. Four free gradients for everyone.
    • NewPicture frames, name effects and accent colours, with a live preview while you customise.
    • NewRare items: only 50 Cosmic backgrounds and 100 Rainbow glows will ever exist.
    • NewGenesis background, an early-adopter exclusive on sale until the end of January 2027.
    • NewFounders get a gold set for free, and inviting friends unlocks backgrounds, frames and name effects at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 invites.
    • ImprovedGlowing borders now come in eight colours.
    • ImprovedTidier profile pages: your stats sit in your profile card, and badges show your progress to the next one.
    • NewThis What's new page, so you can see everything we've added.

    The Shop

    • NewThe Shop: glowing borders, sparkle, name labels and animated GIFs for your images.
    • NewInvite badges for friends who sign up through your link.
    • New£2 credit towards plots when a friend you invited buys their first plot.
    • NewEmail updates, if you'd like them (you can turn them off any time).

    Gifts, invites and Plot of the Week

    • NewGift a plot: pick plots, tick “This is a gift” and we'll email them a link to claim it.
    • NewYour own invite link, with an extra month of maintenance for you and your friend when they buy.
    • NewUpvote the images you love, and Plot of the Week on the home page.
    • NewMap rewind: watch the map fill up from the very first plot.

    Founders

    • NewThe first 100 buyers become Founders, with a numbered Founder badge.
    • NewFounders' first plots are maintenance-free for good.

    Maintenance & moving plots

    • NewMaintenance keeps plots active, with email reminders before anything is due and a grace period if you miss it.
    • NewMove a plot to any free spot of the same size, once every 30 days.

    The community

    • NewThe forum, for showing off your plot, finding neighbours and sharing ideas.
    • NewPublic profiles with badges for plots owned, forum posts and likes.
    • NewThe People page, likes on posts, verified ticks and a live feed of what's happening on the map.

    Netplots launches

    10,000 plots on one big map, £10 each.

    • NewThe map: Small, Medium, Large and XL plots on a 116×116 grid.
